Trek UNESCO-protected Camino de Santiago

Platinum DreamTrip
Journey by foot — 74 miles (120 kilometers) in total — on the final stage of the famous Camino Frances on this epic adventure. Along the way, soak up amazing rural landscape & sights of Northwestern Spain, including the "end of the world"!
(AGES 18+ ONLY) Book by January 29.

About Your Trip

Be part of the millions of people who, over the last 1,200 years, have made the same odyssey — walking the ancient Camino de Santiago trail! On this Platinum DreamTrip for guests ages 18 years and older, you’ll walk a very popular segment known as Camino Frances that starts in Sarria and ends in Santiago de Compostela. Best of all are the fantastic comforts along the way — from knowledgeable local guides and handy support vehicles to comfortable lodgings and drinks and snacks — so you don’t have to worry about a thing!

Each day brings new experience as you roam the beautiful countryside of Galicia, over bridges and pastoral farmland and through quaint villages and historic towns. Take a moment to gaze around, knowing that you’re looking at the same views other adventurers saw for centuries! Along the way, collect stamps in your pilgrim’s passport — creating a great souvenir! Your destination will be the incredible shrine of the apostle St. James the Great at Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.

Your very special journey also includes guided sightseeing. On the way to Sarria, you’ll stop at Astorga, home to a stunning gothic-style cathedral, as well as the historic village of Castrillo de los Polvazares and O Cebreiro, a hamlet with unique stone houses atop a ridge. In Santiago de Compostela, see important city sights within Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then, you’ll make your way to the coastline dotted with ancient harbor towns. At Finesterre, the world appears to end as you look over the rugged cliffs into a seemingly endless sea. The adventure continues to Muxia, where boiled octopus is a traditional culinary treat, then up into the mountains of Alto de Paxareiras for fantastic views. You’ll end the day at Muros — its picturesque waterside promenade is perfect for strolling.

A cultural exchange, a physical challenge, a spiritual pilgrimage — whatever the reason, Camino de Santiago captivates all who visit. After this incredible experience, it’s said that the real journey begins after you get home!

What we love:
• Each night, put your feet up at a relaxing accommodation, complete with your own room and bathroom.
• Are you seeing scallop shells everywhere? Found on signposts and walls, they mark the way as you traverse the Camino trail.
• At the end of the trail, you’ll be rewarded with a coveted Compostela. It’s given out at the Pilgram’s Office in Santiago to prove that you walked the required minimum amount of 62 miles (100 kilometers) of the Camino route.
• The Santiago de Compostela Cathedral is an outstanding example of Romanesque architecture — construction on it began in 1078 and was completed in 1211.
• Until the 15th century, the “end of the world” was thought to be the most northwestern point, Finesterre, of the Iberian Peninsula.
• To maximize your enjoyment, download the DreamTrips™ app to access DreamTrips Local — then earn points on dining, entertainment, spa experiences & more at select spots recommended by DreamTrippers just like you!

The farther you go on the Camino de Santiago route, the more remote and isolated the landscape gets. It’s one of the great attractions about this DreamTrip — you’ll get completely away from it all! You may notice that accommodation options get less fancy. However, the lodgings do range from rural mansions to 5-star hotels and should provide some of the best experiences, and most importantly, a welcome respite after a full day of walking and sightseeing. Enjoy a comfortable night's sleep at each property so that you're refreshed and ready for the next day's trek! (Please note: The specific names will be announced and will be confirmed no later than 30 days prior to departure.)
